ARTICLE VI - OFFICERS OF THE CORPORATION

Section 1 - Officers are: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer. All officers shall be members of the Board of Directors.

Section 2 - The Board of Directors shall have the power to fill vacancies among the Officers from the current Board. Officers so appointed to fill such vacancies shall serve until the next election. The elected Board member shall complete the term of that vacancy.

Section 3 - Responsibilities of the officers.
The Chairperson shall preside over Board Meetings and general membership meetings, have general charge of the activities of the organization, appoint committees, except the Nominating Committee, and report the status of the corporation to the membership annually.
The Vice Chairperson shall assume the duties of the Chairperson in his or her absence and coordinate the Annual Meeting of the membership.
The Secretary shall maintain the minutes of meetings, keep membership records, and notify the members of meetings.
The Treasurer shall report on the financial condition of the corporation, coordinate collection of dues, and coordinate preparation of annual budget.

Section 4 - Officers shall be elected at a meeting of the Board of Directors by a plurality of those present provided there is a quorum, in June or within the first two weeks of July. Any member of the Board of Directors may nominate a Board member at the meeting with the permission of the person. All terms begin July 1. The Chairperson shall serve a two-year term and cannot be consecutively reelected. Upon serving a two-year term, the Chairperson becomes Past Chairperson and remains on the Board of Directors in an advisory position. The Vice Chairperson shall serve a two-year term and may automatically ascend to Chairperson. Secretary and Treasurer may be reelected to succeed themselves two times and shall remain on the Board of Directors while serving as an Officer.
