Tri-County Literacy

Low Literacy Impacts Your Bottom Line!

WHAT IS LOW LITERACY COSTING YOU?
Low literacy may be affecting your business’s bottom line. Research shows that low literacy skills among employees can result in –

  • Reduced Productivity and a need for increased supervision
  • Customer dissatisfaction and a black-eye for your company image
  • Increased employee frustration, ineffective teamwork, and higher turnover rates
  • Higher accident rates and worker’s compensation insurance costs
  • Higher health care costs and greater absenteeism

WARNING SIGNS YOUR EMPLOYEES MAY HAVE LOW LITERACY –
  • Habitually missing or incomplete notation
  • Embarrassingly poor grammar and spelling in e-mail and documents
  • Repeated failure to take notes (Your employee insists: “I’ll remember.”)
  • Missing cover letter with job application

Is low literacy holding back an otherwise capable and trusted employee?
