Tri-County Literacy Volunteer Job Description

Title:

Special Events Reporter

Responsibilities:

     Photograph and document Tri-County Literacy events.

     Interview volunteers and other participants.

     Prepare content for publishing online and in printed materials.

     Coordinate with newsletter editor, web site developers, board and staff to highlight success stories and promote events for the organization.

Impact:

     Increase awareness of Tri-County Literacy in the community.

     Improve communication within the organization.

Long Term Outcome:

     Help Board and staff recruit new volunteers and improve literacy programs.

Training and Support:

Organization history and orientation provided by staff and board.

Qualifications:

     Good written and verbal skills.

     Artistic ability with some experience in photography and/or design.

     Aptitude for identifying and drawing out human interest stories.

Time Commitment:

Estimated 5-10 hours every other month (includes attending events, writing, editing, and formatting content).
